82% Children drops out of School in Tribal (Adivasi) region

There is one school in Dongarari Pada in Girgam cluster of Talasari taluka, where 736 students are studying in various classes from grade 1 to grade 10th. This school has adequate classroom for students but the Teacher count is only 2.  When we interacted with children’s parent, they shared that it takes almost 4 hours to take attendance of all classes, how the teacher will be able to pay attention to the students. Now we can estimate the level & quality of education in these kind of Schools. We encounter that one Student name Sakshi (of class 5th student) were teaching the Grade 1st classroom and children were trying their best to study. In a way this is an inspiration but who is paying the price? 

                     82% DropOut simply says that its loosing out like a whole generation of literacy and that to year on year... it will become difficult to make them earn better and most importantly they might loose out on soft skill training as well bcoz not having basic education. Illiteracy, poverty, inadequate earnings and poor living conditions of parents force them not only to withdraw their kids from schools but also put them in various types of jobs for contribution to the family income and these cycle continues.       

                      Archana, a 10-year-old studying in primary school at Vevji village Pada in Palghar District of Maharashtra was excelling in her studies. She was in school since 4 years and was always exited to attend the class. It was the month of January (2021), when Archana was absent in class continuously for 10 days. Initially, her teacher thought she might be unwell but on the 11th day, he asked her friends.  Answering to teacher, these young boys said “ती आता येणार नाही, ती आई बाबांसोबत चिकूवाडीला मजुरीसाठी गेली होती| (she will not come, she has gone to work in Chikoo Wadi).

                       Sumitra, a 14 year girl, labourer with daily wages of Rs.110 working on a farm, instead of going to school. When asked why, She replied “मी अभ्यासात हुशार आहे तरीही माझे पालक मला एकट्याने रोज १० किमी चालत शाळेत जाऊ देत नाहीत” (that though she is a brilliant student, her Parent don’t allow her to walk to school daily) and girls are not allowed to study further in their tribe (distance is 10 km one way which become 20km daily walk to the nearby school for 9th class, there are no public transport available)

 1. OFFLINE DIGITAL CLASSROOMS  - Offline Digital Classroom In every school to fight issue of lack of teachers and raise kids academic level. This help students with introduction of Digital Technologies as well.      

 2. SPORTS ACADEMY - Establishing Sports Academy to create a deeper bond of kids with school and sense of belongingness & achievement. 

3. TOY LIBRARY  - Bringing toy library in every school to make primary schooling very interesting & attractive.

4. CYCLE LIBRARY - Providing cycle to each student of class 8th and above for daily travel to the school which is minimum 9 KM away.

5. TEACHERS TRAINING - Our early dropout warning system enables school to identify students who are at risk of dropping out and then we focus on individuals who struggle to perform well. 

6. AWARENESS CAMPS - Conducting camps in villages to expose the hazards of illiteracy which leads to unemployment and the main cause to poverty.    

7. FINANCIAL AID - Providing financial help in terms of fees, stationary , extra activity cost, participation cost, uniforms, Books, health, nutrition and travel etc.

8. PARENTS ORIENTATION PROGRAM - Frequent Parents orientation for continuity of children's study and encouragement.
